Project Overview
At the start of 2022, Houston’s First Baptist Church was preparing to launch a large capital campaign. They had already worked with Generis to establish the campaign’s generosity strategy and theme: Kainos. The Texas megachurch had a campaign name and a brand, but still urgently needed design and marketing support to launch the campaign on time and up to their standards.
Generis connected the church to Clever to address these pressing needs. The Clever team immediately stepped in to work on a series of projects, including designing the campaign’s vision book, a promotional package, and the official campaign website.
Clever’s team collaborated closely with Houston’s First Baptist’s internal marketing staff to complete the outstanding tasks. This allowed the internal staff to meet tight print deadlines with breathing room to spare. Clever has worked extensively with other churches and understands the unique needs and rhythms of ministry work.
The Kainos campaign’s initial goal was to raise $93 million over two years. Shortly after launch, Houston’s First Baptist received commitments for over $103 million. Clever’s help with the website, marketing, and campaign assets simply helped the church to clearly communicate its leadership’s vision and reach the campaign’s full potential.
Now their focus is to continue engaging their congregation of over 7,000 members in determining how those funds will be used. Part of these funds will go toward launching a series of Difference Maker Ventures—member-submitted project ideas that will help reach the community for Christ.
About Houston's First
Houston's First is a thriving and diverse community of real people experiencing real life together. Sundays are a time where we gather together to grow and give of what we have, but our lives consist of much more than attending church on Sunday. We want to be the church every day of the week.
“Thanks for being a part of the Kainos team and partnering with us to clearly convey the vision to our church family! We would not be here today without the Clever team.”
